London. Sense of urgency. The city vibrates between marble, brick, steel and glass. People live their lives disconnected in the street canyons amongst towering skyscrapers and crumbling sheds.

Everybody rushes by, a coffee to go, off to the next hustle. A metropolis is moving to the hammering sound of garage house and the shredding guitars of punk. But beneath the surface, there's melancholy, loneliness, sadness. It's an intoxicating thing.

We're roaming the streets, walking by shimmering lights, piles of garbage, trying to navigate between the lurching drunks. Ah-hoo... Werewolves of London! How does one survive this fierce love-hate the city spills over its citizens like the surging sea?

And now I sit here at Grounded coffee house in Whitechapel, the heart-shaped foam of my Cappuccino fading with every sip. Whitney Houston sings: "Bring me your higher love!"

VLURE – Heartbeat

Violent post-punk from Glasgow. Heartbeat is a synth-driven massacre, plowing forward mercilessly. VLURE pair post-punk's sadness with industrial's anger. And it hits like a shot to the heart. You can feel pearls of sweat building in your neck.

I'm going to dance 'til my body's numb!

Transient Lines – Voyager

Flickering colors—distilled into sound and space. Austrian music magician Transient Lines expands the listener's mind to uncharted territories within and beyond. Voyager sends you on a trip through the universe, sparks fly by the windows of the spacecraft, and in the distance, a supernova of thoughtfulness triggers reflection.

Ghost Lagoon – Easier

Soothing but slightly weird. Swiss solo artist Ghost Lagoon preaches to relax: "Settle down a little longer." Easier meanders between exciting pop and sensual downtempo. A track that's slowly dripping like honey from a spoon into your teacup of comfort. Glimmering peacefulness baked into an expanding composition.

Colonel Red – Talk 2 Me

No style has more sex than funk music. Colonel Red's mesmerizing, grinding away like Sly Stone on his mission to spread the message about the divine right to live our lives with free will. Talk 2 Me is a smooth track created by gently stroking the instruments. The song hits like a beautiful drug that kills everything terrible and evil in the world, leaving nothing but love on Earth.

Evelinn Trouble – Maria

A bluesy ballad of stunning proportions. Swiss rebel Evelinn Trouble generally outdid herself on the new album Longing Fever, but especially in Maria. A song that needs time to grow and blossom. But when it finally opens up to your heart, it doesn't let go so quickly.

"If love's supposed to hurt, wouldn't we have hell on earth?"
