A Word from the Founder
Hi, my name is Janosch, and I am the founder of Negative White.
From a very young age, music was part of my life. There was often an album playing at home. Later in school, I would find new music in traditional ways: on compilations or through pop magazines.
However, when I was 15, my uncle gave me a stack of CDs to import on my brand-new iPod. It was the moment music became something more to me: a way to express to the world who I was, feeling heard and recognised emotionally.
Since then, I have realised that what made this moment so significant wasn’t just the music but how it was shared: from human to human. This personal connection made the music so much more impactful and memorable.
I believe that music is at its best as a shared experience—whether we enjoy a concert together or recommend each other the music we are excited about. That‘s why I founded Negative White in 2010. To build a platform that serves this purpose: sharing and nurturing people‘s passion for music.
